Turning Vanilla into Chocolate - Follow Up on All Clear ... and... Not So Clear

Family, thanks for letting me vent.  Just not myself today. Some days like that. But guess what!

None of us are smoking! YEA for US!!!!!!!

Food stuff:  I gotta take this in stride.  Shawn, you raised a great point.  These are not food allergies.  They are "intolerances".  Meaning.  I can eat them, I just can't eat alot of them.  Plus, like the nutritionist said, my body may not have an inflammatory reaction to these after being away from them for awhile...  So, we wait and see.  Nyima: great point too.  I was already not eating tons of bbq sauce or ketchup anymore anyway, bc of the lower carb count I am on.  So, I will survive.  And Tommy, boy what a SUPER suggestion.  Turn chocolate into vanilla and enjoy a great non-tomato based bbq sauce!  YES!

I can take vanilla protein shakes, add in carob powder and get a chocolate taste if I want.  But actually.... I had switched over to vanilla from chocolate flavor before I ever met with the nutritionist today bc frankly I liked it better.

Now, as to a bit of chocolate now and then.  Well, if it turns out that this remains an "actual" inflammatory food for me well, that's where I may just allow myself an indulgence now and then.  I honestly am not a big dessert person (not into pies, fruit based desserts, etc.).  But life without chocolate?  No. I'll just have some here and there.

Coffee.  Hmmm.  I think I could really do without it.

Spinach - well, one of my fave veggies (and I am not a veggie lover) but, there are good alternatives for salads that is for sure!  Baby kale, romaine, here we come.

I assure you I'm gonna quiz the nutritionist like holy hell on Friday (don't you want to be in her shoes this week?). I see now more clearly why I was so frustrated today.  I think it was silly that she didn't run the food intolerance test before we configured an eating plan that consisted of many foods I now may have an intolerance to.  I think my nutritionist is good but I think she got the chicken before the egg and had she done things in a more logical order, I think I may have been spared a LOT of frustration.

Ok, let's turn some Vanilla into Chocolate by Counting Blessings:

This family.

I am NOT smoking.  And, smoking is NOT an option!

I am way better at day 110 than I was at day 7.

I had a clear colonoscopy.

These are food intolerances, not actual food allergies.

If some of these foods are truly inflammatory to me, my GI may get way better way quick.

Many of these foods were limited anyway, given a lower carb diet.

There is more than one kind of bbq sauce (leave it to Tommy to school a Texan on that - good job Tommy).

Worst case scenario - with a little effort, you can make vanilla into chocolate.

Love all of you guys so much, thank you for listening to me vent about my minor s___t in the grand scheme of things.

I will calm down, tomorrow is a new day.  Well, hell, let me be honest.  Next week is a new week.  That'll have to do.  After all, I am keeping a little "piece" in my pocket for the meeting with the nutritionist Friday.  Hey, she gets paid good $ and I have the right to tell her that a different approach could have saved some frustration on my "end", in more ways than one if this turns out to be related to the GI stuff!  HA!
