Traveling trying to not be negative

This has been a trying trip.  My sister in law has declined some with Alzheimer’s.  We have been clearing out clutter and more from her room in assisted living.  It has been physically and emotionally draining.  And even more so for my husband.

I like to be a person who cooperates but I will complain.  The hotel where we always stay is expensive we choose it because of a shuttle service and kitchen.  Due to Covid no shuttle, no housekeeping.  Trash is placed in the hallway where it stays from 7 to 3.  We are walking 4-6 miles a day which is good for us but not with the work we are also doing.  Coming back to our room here is not a relief as it should be due to cost.  I will make another choice in where we stay this fall.  We are on a budget so we can make more trips each year.

I’m not smoking.  And I am grateful.  My thoughts are very self critical but I am staying aware.  I am grateful I have two very good books to read myself to sleep.

I feel guilty but I just can’t read the newspaper or watch the news right now.  Neither of us can take in more heaviness.

I can be grateful my sister in law still recognizes us and also be wise about the future.

Thank you for letting me vent.
