Tough morning

Had a tough morning and probably came closer to giving in than I have since I quit.  But I know if I smoke, #1 I will NOT enjoy it, #2 I will hate myself for it.  The mornings are the hardest for me and not having the patch on at night probably makes it worse when I wake up.

But I pulled through and again, I am proud of myself.  My best friend and I are going to a movie on Saturday to celebrate my One Week!  I'll just be glad when the mornings are easier.  One day at a time...and I'm doing it!

Great job, you're doing so well!  What movie are you going to see?

Well I'm glad you already know the answers before you smoke.

Keep drinking fluids to flush the toxins out of your body. When you are going through nicotine withdrawal nothing seem sto make any sense. This is where you have to trust the process. Trust everything you've learned here on EX and all the other sites and readings you have done.

No matter how you feel, just keep telling yourself.... "I don't do that anymore" say it outloud, say it with purpose.

Keep making sure you have a plan of action. Something to do everytime you get a craving. What are you replacing it with?

Going to watch The Hobbit I think.

Great reward!  And just think, you won't have to over-smoke before going in to the theater so you can "make it through". You won't get edgy and restless in the middle of the movie. When the movie is over, you won't rush out of the theater as fast as you can so you can light up. You get to just enjoy a movie like a normal person!

Great job getting through tough mornings.  You are doing so well!!!!  Mornings (and late night) were hard for me, too ( i lit up the moment I woke up ) but it will get better. I use to  pop a sugarless mint while waiting for the coffee, but mainly, i think, it was time. Getting use to doing it differently.  Mornings are fine for me now, so it will get easier!

If you haven't been to the movies since you quit, be prepared for when you exit the theatre. When I went to see The Hobbit, stepping outside afterwards was a huge trigger for me. It was just automtic to light up in the past, when leaving the theater. So have a mint, gum, cinnamin stick.... or just be ready in case you have a memory/crave like I did. As they say, Be Prepared, Not Surprised!

I still feel odd in the morning and I sleep with the Patch on. I think it is down to muscle memory. My body still can't understand why it isn't fumbling around in my purse and stumbling down the back stairs first thing in the morning.

Of course, it took me a while to figure this out, so congrats on your Quit and being aware.
