Today is my Quit Date!

I had 2 cigarettes this morning, then did not buy another pack. So far so good. I figure if I can make it 2 days, I can make it. And I'm also going through some particularly stressful times with my son and husband, which predicated my re-starting smoking in the first place. So if I can get through their issues without smoking, I can get through anything without cigarettes. Please pray for me and wish me luck.

Good Morning Anneli!   So, are you ready for today?  Did you read, study, identify your triggers and have a plan of attack when your nicotine mind tells you to light up??  If you REALLY want to quit Anneli, then wishing you luck won't matter.  Quitting smoking has nothing to do with luck....it has to do with determination, motivation and work on your part.

If you are ready Anneli, then we're ready too!!!   Keep us updated, remember to reach out to this site and ask your questions and blog about your struggle BEFORE you buy or light up a cigarette!   We SOOOOO want you to succeed and we are here to help you!  Welcome and let's DO THIS!!!!!!!  Cindy

Don't let anyone else's issues stand in the way of your decision to quit smoking Anneli!!!  You have to believe in yourself and your reason to quit. And then live it!!!  It's gonna take more than 2 days to really understand how your body is going to respond.  It's tough, but dying from lung cancer is a HECK of a lot tougher!!!!!  You can do this!!!!!  Have a GREAT WEEKEND and keep us posted!!!!
And.................................you are definately in my prayers girl!!!!!!!

Congrats on tyou decision to quit. Go to quitsmokingonline.com. Good information there. They explain why we smoke when we stress. The more knowledgeable you are the better your chnaces for success. You have to learn why you run for a smoke when things get tense.

if you haven't been lurking here or on othere sites to see what quitting is all about or you have no confidence built up

by actually knowing you can do this by practicing not smoking when you normally would have

prayer and luck will not save you

Welcome aboard!  Anacondahead mentioned www.quitsmokingonline.com -- I highly recommend it. It will completely change your view of quitting and give you some great coping tools to use.

I'm just repeating what everyone else has said, so I'll leave it here. Welcome and congrats on your decision!

As Cindy pointed out, luck has nothing to do with this. Quitting is a choice, plain and simple. Many of us here study and do our homework so our quits have a better chance of success.

www.whyquit.com is a site that has opened the eyes of many. Also, Alan Carr's book, Quit Smoking the Easy Way is ready to download from Teresa's page or Maggie's. Read. Study. Be ready when a crave hits with your quit kit.

You CAN do this.

No luck needed - make a commitment and stick to it. Read, read, read (links given in earlier blog) - and stay close here. You can do this!!

congrats on your decision to quit, YOUR DECISION. That's the key, it's all about you and what you want, smoke-free is where I need to be. So come here and read.... read... read... vent... if you must just don't light up.
