Today is Day 7

It's hard to believe I have been smoke free for a week. Except for the first day, I haven't had any physical cravings and my mind has NOT thought about cigarettes 24/7 like it usually did when I would try to stop before. Since my morning routine use to be a mug of coffee and a smoke first, I do not make the coffee now until an hour after I've woke up and have drank a glass of water. My go to foods when my head tells me I want a cigarette has been grapes and watermelon, they not only help my thoughts but take away my craving for something sweet at the same time.

Big congrats on 7 days smoke free.   That's great you're not having any cravings.   Switching up your routines is the way to go.   Keep it going!

Congratulations on making it through H#ll Week!  On to Heck Week, and the day after, and the week after - one day at a time.  Seems like you have this down by changing up your routines and keeping the munchies at bay with healthy snacks.

Keep going!

Sounds like you made a good plan and are sticking to it. This next week may prove a bit more challenging, but I can already see that you are up to it!

What a great idea that is, changing up the coffee routine. I' sure it helps in a big way!

Congrats on the 7 days. Hold onto that week and use it to strengthen  your resolve every day forward. Welcome to the beautiful world of not smoking! Hope to get to know you a bit better over time.

Day 153

Chuck-2-20-2011

When I quit I did much the same thing with the coffee because like you, it was always coffee and cigarettes first thing in the morning. On the upside, I now do most of what I used to do on the old schedule. I'm glad your cravings are OK for now and CONGRATULATIONS on seven days!!!!

ONWARD TO FREEDOM!!!

Thank you, Chuck. One of the things that have made it easier is I did not smoke in the house because we have a special needs cat, and I removed my chair and table that was on the front porch.
