Today I Made A Choice.

I bought 2 cartons of cigarettes on January 14th and my goal was that they would be the last of them.  Here I am on March 10th with a full pack still left and about 3 smoked from another pack. I looked at my cigarettes this morning but I Chose not to smoke them. I know what to do, I've traveled this path before. I don't need to gear up for anything, as I have been telling myself since January. All I needed to do was decide and now the decision has been made. I know what to do and my quit kit toolbox has been prepared for weeks.  I know what my goal is and I choose today to begin. Five minutes ago, I said goodbye to those cigarettes, I could have made them last another week. Under the faucet and into the garbage can the cigarettes went. There is no day more beautiful and perfect to begin my journey of loving myself and improving my health!

How do I reset my quit date? I have old information and I want to celebrate this day!

Congratulations!  You sound like you are ready!  Click on "My Quit Plan" upper right of screen.  There is a colored box that shows your number of quit days.  Click on pencil icon to change your date.  I think you have to log out of that part of the site and this part of the site and log back in for it to sync.

Congratulations on your awesome decision!  It is never too early to quit smoking, nor is it too late as long as we are alive.

You seem to have all your ducks in a row, all I can say is welcome to your new life, please come and pledge, get on the Freedom train, blog about your journey and educate yourself as much as you can about our addiction.

It helped me to be here every day, several times/day, I soaked in all the guidance offered, selected my own tools, and used them.

Welcome

To "make them last" is a form of torture, for, what is counting them out or fretting you'll run out before you're ready to get started?

Your decision is the only way.

Hmmm, I'm not so computer savvy. I believe I changed it in "my quit plan" but it appears to still be showing here. I will work at it some more. Thanks Jennifer!

I knew this, I have learned much from you! This is why I ended the silliness today! I've tortured myself enough with it. It was just a way to justify a crazy addiction.

You must log out of my quit plan and then log back in - I think.  Thank God I have not had to change mine.

Hi Nancy YoungAtHeart, I'm feeling remarkably stable today!! I was so hungry yesterday but much better today! I have not left the house since Friday because I'm scared LOL. Getting in the car is a big trigger. My house is looking pretty spiffy though! Happy Sunday!

Be sure to carry a cold bottle of water in the car - and some tunes to sing aloud.  If you can, find new routes to take to your regular places to provide new scenery.  While driving, count the red/blue/white cars you see, or trucks, or lights you hit or miss.  Plan and prepare and you will be fine.

Thanks Nancy, I start a new job soon and I will have a new route soon!! I will take your advice and grab some cold water to go, listen to some sing along music and  count count the colors of cars!
