To Thine Own Self Be True

My quit date is May 18th. I quit smoking yesterday. I had two cigarettes before 10:30 a.m. I am still vaping for now.

I have been smoking for 15 years and vaping for the last 5 years. I have quit here and there for a short while at a time too many times to count. The last time I quit smoking and vaping I made it 40 days.

Having to start over after 40 days felt so bad I don't have the words to even describe how I feel right now. The one thing I can say is that it has weighed so heavy on my heart and soul I am very ready and optimistic about my quit. I want to thank you all in advance. Thank you for being there for me during the final leg of my quit journey... My last quit. I treasure this quit even though I am not quite to it yet. Just like my grandmother always said, "Patience is a virtue, assume it though you have it not." She also would always quote Shakespeare, "To thine own self be true." My grandmother was a very wise woman. I miss her dearly. I do not quit for anyone but myself. I know I can do this. It is time to get my life back. I just read No Man's Land. Inspirational.

I am a 33 year old woman who has smoked for 15 years. I started smoking when I was 18 yeats old. Sadly, I started smoking because no one ever asked me to smoke cigarettes or anything else, so I took it as an insult and started anyway. How is that for insight...
