Share your quitting journey
I took my youngest son, his wife and daughter to Branson last week. We had a wonderful time, ate too much, swam too much. We did take in one show the Dixie Stampede and that was phenomanal. I got back late Thursday - and Friday I didn nothing - including brushing my hair.
I came back to work Monday to 527 emails. Every time I dealt with one, two more came in ... I did get through all of them by the end of the day. The rest of the week has been equally busy, and I am shocked that it is all ready Thursday again.
I celebrated by 5 month anniversary on 7/24/14... I have celebrated many firsts... I have been angry, emotional, but I have hung in there. Quitting has been the most important thing in my life lately. I truly feel like a non-smoker. Every once in a while I will have an urge a thought.. that I want a cigarette. Someone will come in my office (one of my old smoking buddies)... and I smell the smoke. I actually breath it in, and the urge is gone...
I do so hope and pray that all of you on the EX are hanging in there. It gets so much better... you breath, you don't cough... you can smell your shampoo and body wash for hours after your shower... you don't get wet driving down the road in the rain - because you don't have to roll down the window.
There are so many things to be thankful for... and you get healthier, life does get better... please don't smoke don't fall prey to the urges for a cigarette. Breath deep, chew on a straw, stand on your head...
Hugs and Love
