Three Years Today

I am not posting this for any congratulations, but here goes...... Today, October 1, marks three years that I am smoke free. I was successful because I weened myself off of cigarettes with Nicorette chewing gum, I stayed close to this site for moral support, and I also quit drinking any alcohol. Those three things helped me quit. I can still remember doubting that I could ever quit, but I did. It certainly wasn't easy, but I was determined to do something to help my body improve....I was too often out of breath, and always panicked by a cold, but now I breathe easy and almost never have any cold symptoms. I wish everyone success in their struggle to quit, and I stand as an example that yes, it is possible to become smoke free.

(ps....although Nicorette gum is a help, it is very addictive.....I had to ween myself off of that, too. It took a little over 6 months to get off of the gum, but that too was possible. I substituted the Nicorette gum with Big Red gum.)
