When I found this site it frieghtened me. But I read and I did what was suggested. I wrote a blog and I believe in my first blog I said I didn't think I could do this. You told me that I could, I didn't believe you. You taught me N.O.P.E. (not one puff ever), you told me what worked for you, never take another puff, drink lots of water, deep breathing, cravings will come, they'll only last a few minutes, find something else to do. have a plan, the elders said they give back what was given to them, encouragement, strength and hope. I was told I didn't have to quit forever, I just had to quit for today, if today was too long for me, then just say NO for an hour, if an hour was too long just say NO for a moment, I was told to fill my toolbox with the things that would help me to keep my quit and to stay close to this site and I did what you suggested. I still didn't believe you when I set a quit date, but I did it any way. Then I was afraid I wouldn't quit on my quit date so I didn't wait, I just quit. When I thanked you all for what you had done for me, you told me that this was my quit and I did the work. You held my hand and shared what worked for you, you encouraged me, believed in me and supported me. I couldn't have done it without you.

Anyone new to this site, if you think you can't quit,  listen to us when we tell you, you can. This is your quit, we can share what worked for us and you take what you like and you work your quit, this is your quit, the only person that can put in the effort for your quit is you. I know you can do this, it's simple just don't smoke. It's not always easy but you're stronger than you realize and you are worth the effort.  As my mother would say (She died of lung cancer 11/1/11, she had quit smoking 30 years before her death. I was an anctive smoker when she died.) a little effort goes a long way, this is your quit, put the effort in that will earn you your freedom. You are so worth the effort needed to make your quit a successful quit.
