I have not quit yet, but I am on the same pack since Thursday.  Hoping that this will be my last one!!!  I really need to stop smoking.  I have three kids that need me more than I need to smoke.  It is so nice to get on here and read how others are going through the same thing and how others have overcome.  That is very encouraging!!!  I cannot wait to be there someday!!!!!!!

its only a rough as you make it in your head so undo that thinking.

you can do it reasonably easy if you get your head in a different place.

There are some great blogs on here - do a bunch of reading and search some other sites - whyquit.com, quitsmokingonline.com, just to name a few.

You can do it, just have to stop smoking!  LOL Seems so easy!

You are so lucky to have found this site. If you need help in motivation go to whyquit.com you'll never smoke again (Not One Puff Ever). If you want inspiration as to how easy it is once you've decided go to quitsmokingonline.com. There's truth and encouragement in these 3 sites. Wish I'd known about them before my quit! Do it now while you're young before it's too late, believe me, it's not worth anything to keep smoking and no one told me how freaking easy it would be to stop. Not that hard. Do keep us posted here....

Initially my impetus was to quit for another, but then ultimately I realized I quit for myself too and that was a fantastic way to stay quit.  People in your life come and go, even children grow up and leave the roost, but to wake up in the morning smoke free and you realize that ball and chain has been cut loose from your leg, theres nothing quite like that kind of freedom and all aspects of your life begin to become more healthy too, bonus! Stay positive, be informed, and use this site, it really is awesome.

When I decided to quit, I went to the library and got some books.  I did the activities and made all the lists.  I tried to make my addiciton personal and figure out why I smoke and why do I want to quit.  We all know that it is bad and causes cancer, etc. but that never stopped me before.  I needed an understanding of what was going on.  I also went to HWCs page and listened to Joels podcasts.  They were great.  You can do this!  Get prepared!
