Nicotine addiction is so powerful! So powerful that even though we know it is slowly killing us some still continue to smoke. Over the weekend I was browsing in a flea market, aka swap meet, when I noticed this middle aged woman…in a wheel chair….with an oxygen mask on…smoking a cigarette. This really broke my heart. I felt so bad for her. It was written all over her face that she was miserable and she was not enjoying that cigarette. She was simply feeding her addition. I said a silent prayer for her in hopes one day she will find a way to kick the addiction.
I pray for all of us that have managed to kick the habit to continue to protect our quit and for you newbies...hang in there...take it one minute, one hour or one day at a time. No one want to be confined to a wheelchair on oxygen while smoking a cigerette.
