Well this is it . Going out of business sale was on the weekend in preparedness for closing the venue doors tonight .It’s our last night together .
I still remember my last night together with my pack of cigarettes and the emotions that came with that . How would I live without them and what in goodness name would I turn to now without those cigarettes . I was sure my world would crumble beneath me .
I was in my own little world ; my own little comfort zone . I thought I could breathe with them , relax with them , dream big with them and die old with them . How many of our friends died because of them !
I remember saying to people on more than one occasion that “at least I’ll die happy “ . I was an addict and that is how an addict thinks .
Addiction shields recovery from us with denial ; it holds us back from admitting the truth and has us believing lies in order for it to survive . It feeds us continuous bate . If we are on that lonely list today we may be tempted or maybe even bite . If we are tired of something or someone or tired of just being sick in tired we will bite , angry we will bite , hungry for something in our lives we will bite and if we bite and we feed it , it wins . It doesn’t matter if we die , it has no regard for life , not yours , and not mine and not the fish in the ocean either.
It doesn’t matter if we die because there is a younger generation following us .
Starve this addiction and it’s a slow and painful death . Embrace your quit . It’s life not death .
I highly recommend making some time every day to research Big T and how they force kids into working in their fields and how working in those fields make them sick , watch how those cigarettes are made . Imagine sweepings from the floor put into each one you’ve smoked or are smoking right now . These are tools that will help you quit . I can post some for you that turned my stomach . Don’t ignore that suggestion please watch them . Add it to the list of 101 things to do when quitting smoking and make it number 1 .
The door to our venue is closing its curtains and that’s ok , our lives will go on . Your business may be closing its doors but you will move on and it may be better than before . Let’s not let smoking be our final curtain .
