Hello everyone I am new here and good luck to all of you.I decided that this is it I can not do this to myself or my family any more.I just found out today that my father in law has lung cancer and there are many more family members that are dieing from this disease.I obviously am scared to death and terrified. This will NOT be me I will not do this any more. Truth is that if I do not quit chances are high that I too can end up in those shoes and those are a pair of shoes I have no want or need to fill. The truth can set you free.

Concratulations on your decision to quit!  Take time to read thru the program, meet others, read blogs and other websites, and prepare yourself!  I think that when you arm yourself with knowledge about certain methods of quitting and know what to expect and have others supporting you it will be a lot easier.  As long as your heart is in it and you truly want to quit, you WILL succeed!  Good Luck!!

the fear can make you do strange things to.

the thing is, there is no luck to quitting. you can't hope your self quit or wish yourself quit.

so don't count on any of that.

in its simplest form quitting smoking is just quitting smoking.

you decide you aren't going to smoke anymore and you honor your decision, nothing more.

sorry to hear about your father in law

Welcome!  right place.. Good reading.. Happy quitters . no regrets..  Sorry about your father in law,   I lost my Dad in October.  Respiratory failure..    Do not be afraid..Don't try to quit.... Just quit, it is the best thing you can do for yourself and your family, even if some of them continue to smoke.
