THIS IS THE DAY I QUIT FOR!!!

Hello--technically--for my title to be correct English it should say "this is the day for which I quit"--- BUT THIS IS BLOGGING---SO MY KIDS TELL ME TO LIGHTEN UP!

Anyway---today IS that day!

I didn't quit to live longer. Yes, maybe I will. But, don't forget, perfectly healthy people die in accidents every day

I didn't quit to avoid lung cancer. Yes, may be I will. But, don't forget, many people get lung cancer who never smoked.

I didn't quit to avoid heart disease or strokes. Yes, maybe I will. But, don't forget, many people suffer with these conditions and they never smoked.

No----I quit for today. Because today that great surge of energy you get when you quit smoking---that feeling that the breaths you are taking come from your toes---that feeling of being so bouncy and light---today-THAT FEELING kicked in!!

I remembered that feeling from the last time I quit, soooooooooooooooooo long ago. At that time, it kicked in at about 1month and it was incredible. I couldn't believe how GREAT I felt and couldn't believe I had smoked and missed that feeling.

I looked forward to having that feeling again this time. It got me through some bad withdrawal and cravings. I was waiting for it. But, 1 month came and no feeling; 2 months came and no feeling---AND I WAS SO DISAPPOINTED! I thought, I guess I am just too old this time, I waited too long to quit again.

BUT NO------here it is!!! It is so FANTASTIC! Of course, those of you longer in the quit than me know that it is not really "extra energy". I found that out the first time. This FANTASTIC new feeling doesn't last----because it becomes your normal. This isn't extra energy. This is the way people feel all the time when they don't smoke.

So---you can keep your medical reasons, and longer life....if it happens, it happens.

BUT FOR ME----I QUIT FOR TODAY!!! (end of day 102 smoke free)
