THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE...................

I am having some pretty rough days lately..... and when the stress hits..... "MY EXfriend Addiction" comes a knockin'.

I have cried...bitten a lemon (ok..devored a lemon)  Stuck my head in the freezer.... been 'quite contrary' (Mary, Mary)  gotten people mad at me... pouted.... and then I changed my mind on how to handle my quit.

I got happy.  I am singing my praises ♪♫♪EVERYDAY♪♪♫   (and I am a horrible singer 🙂  I tell everyone that I am a QUITTER!  IT IS A POSITIVE... the negatives are gone!

YES... I still get cravings.... STRONG ones sometimes..... but I have learned to not dwell on them.. but to let them go!  As soon as I feel one coming... The first thought in my head is "It's NOT an option"    I equate this to losing my Dear Mom.  Seeing her again... was NOT an option.  She is gone.  I had to accept this and move on in my life.  After all....  It IS my life and I have to be the one to make it what I want it to be.  My Choice!

This may sound like I am minimizing the difficulty of a new quit... I AM NOT.  Mine has been an interesting journey also....filled with ups and downs..... whines and pouts...and TRIUMPHS!

THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE.  THIS IS YOUR BEAUTIFUL LIFE.  LIVE IT SMOKEFREE.

Hey, Kris!

I think it may help to keep Carr's theory that we are NOT giving anything up in mind.  We are deciding not to smoke so we can be FREE!

Nobody said it was going to be easy, but it IS doable.  Sometimes one minute, one hour at a time - but it IS doable.

Stay with it - you CAN do this!

I am also still getting used to the crazy day/awesome day thing but I think I just realized that this is how normal people really are.  You're do right its doable when you look at it as a personal choice tha tyou are totally accountable for.  I think I'll plan one of those good days today like your having.  A little signing, a little craziness.

Well... maybe I phrased that wrong...as far as paralleling it with my Mom......

I don't look at quitting as giving up anything....... I look at is as GAINING a better quality of life.  It is still an addiction...and I still feel the pangs of it rearing its ugly head sometimes...... but when I think of it as something I "just can't do...ever again"  PERIOD.  I am able to let it go and not dwell on the fact that I might miss it.   Its just not an option for me.  🙂

You are right Kris! It is not rocket science! However, basic math is difficult until you learn how to do it! I believe you have learned how to this! Just do it! Rinse and repeat! Everytime! Like math, if you do it right everytime, you get the right results, everytime!           Tommy

kris, i hope u have a easier day today.....the good days will allways out number the bad days......spring is around the corner......11 days away.............the outdoors is a good place to be......even if for a  bit.......exercise is great..........just like a puff resets the brain............exercise also resets the brain, way way back from the first time we ran or  just played ....then overwrites the nicotine memories.......  i wish u a very very calm weekend...........calmness also gets more and more frequent........longer periods of comfort................u are too important to all of us.......jim ohio

Thomas is not available right now, and if you leave a message he won't get back to you!!!!

I'm too busy counting my Blessings because I'm an EXer!!!

Fill your mind with Positive Thoughts and there won't be time to listen to those lying whispers!

If I can do it you can too!

It isn't a bit harder for you than it is for any one of us, we just changed our perspective!!!

I keep the telephone of my mind open to peace, harmony, health, love  and

abundance. Then, whenever doubt, anxiety or fear try to call me, they keep

getting a busy signal and soon they'll forget my number. - Edith Armstrong

Life is full or surprises and quitting smoking is a trip too. I can honestly tell you that the difficult days DO become less and less as time goes on and after awhile this journey does become much easier, and THEN you'll find yourself squarely on the other side of that fence where you will have peace with this addiction.

You just need to keep facing forward and continue to kick any negative voices out of your head.

(Go buy something expensive!) You're worth it.  ♥

Isaiah 40:28-31  Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God,   the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint,   and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength;   they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary;   they shall walk and not faint.

Kris - Great blog! I have always used the "no options" way of looking at this. Once you view it that way - it is for sure "not rocket science"! Congrats to you!
