THE NERVE!!

Okay, tonight my blog is going to be slightly ANGRY!!! My husband and I let his cousin move in about four months ago. He knew I quit smoking and how hard it has been for me to stay quit! This morning he came into my livingroom as he always does before he leaves for work ! Only today he decided to walk in with a cigarette! I was livid! Nicely, I asked him to please leave the room, extinguish the cigarette and then he could return. He looks at me and sais, why should I have to "suffer" because you want to try to quit smoking AGAIN! What? Really? I flipped out! Yes, flipped! My words exactly: this, my friend, is my house. I gave you plenty of notice that their will be no more smoking in my home long ago! I knew you were smoking in your room but didn't say anything because it isn't near my downstairs, which is where I live. Also, I do not need to ask permission to quit smoking in MY HOME!! I worked very hard to clean my house and all of the nasty nicotine on the walls, furniture, etc. He continued to stand there with a lit cigarette, arguing with me that he shouldn't have to smoke out in the cold. I was so mad I began to cry. Suddenly, my husband stood up, grabbed the cigarette out of Scott's hand and took it into the bathroom and flushed it. He came back into the room and told Scott, if you ever speak to my wife in that tone you will be picking yourself off the floor! He said it's real simple, no smoking in our home and you can end the smoking in your room too because it is still my home that I pay for! My wife and I chose life, and now we are going to enjoy it smoke and drama free! MY HERO,! I cannot tell you how wonderful he is! Oh' and Scott appoligized and now smokes in his car when he feels the need. Haha! As I said, it was kind of a violent blog and we don't usually conduct ourselves in that manner, but this incident just took the cake. He has been a true nuiscence from day one. He is rude and disrespectful and the sooner he finds a home, the better. Until then, I think staying in our own corners is probebly a good idea! My quit is still going well! Hope you all are doing well too! XoXo!

good for you, glad your hubby is so supportive. the 50 yr old brother must have missed all the lessons in manners, respect, and brotherly love..... he has to go before all is lost in the family relationship.

sorry you had to go through that. glad you are strong in your quit.

congrats  on standing up for your quit... after all it is you who is doing something to better your life .. it is he who is destroying is health... horray for you...

when my husband was alive he joined up with the enemy and didnt care what i had to say... he ignored my futile attempt to quit smoking when i got a lung infection cause my brother who was staying with us disrespected my wishes and smoked not only infront of me but in my livingroom,,,

my ex husband who died of lung cancer in 2011

Way to go!! YAY, Hubby!! My hubby smokes in the house but only in one room. I STILL hate it!! He's not allowed to smoke in my car, and sometimes does anyway. TOTAL DISRESPECT!! If he ever does it again, I'll lose my cool!! I think he's jealous of MY QUIT!! He read Allen Carr's book but it didn't help. Will put the book by his chair again. Maybe this time it will work!! I surely hope so.
