THE E-CIGARETTE

Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the e-cigarette. I was one of those who supported the use of it, any way you can quit worked for me. I now use the patches. I found that with the e-cigarette you might be setting yourself up for failure. It made it so much harder for me when I used it in the first week, Not only that, you have to break the hand to mouth habit which you will never do using that device. And forget saving money, you will find that the cartriges are going to cost you the same if not more than when you smoked. Trust me when I say I was a die hard supporter until I began to see the problems it was causing. I knew without a doubt that if I continued to use it I would eventually fail in my quit. I really honestly think you are better off without it. I know it is your quit and your life, this is only coming to you because I truly care about you and your quitting. I am here right with you struggling just as you are. I would just ask that you take a good hard look at what it is doing for you, I would hate to see you blow your quit because you did not lose the " habit" of smoking. Be well and good luck my friends.

I bought the e-cig last year and it tasted a bit like chemicals.  I couldn't use it either.  I know there are alot of things in reg smokes, but I felt like God only knows what these factories in China are putting in the ecig cartridges.

Sadly, I think their are going to be many who find disappointment in it. But I really do think it will make your quit harder if not impossible in the long run.

I haven't heard one good thing about them. Wow, I'd like to say more but I think I'm going to have an epileptic seizure with the flashing lights.

Bottom line. People smoke because they are nicotine drug addicts. Trying to stop smoking while continuing to use the drug is almost always gong to be difficult, if not impossilbe. There are a lot of psychological triggers that have to be reprogrammed over several months when qutting. To try to do that in the face of the relentless pull of the active physical drug addiction is a tough challenge.

If you can stop using the drug and get through the immediate witthdrawal (a couple of weeks), at least you've got a fighting chance on the learned triggers. You aren't swimming against such a strong current.

Things like the e-cig are for people who want to make quitting as difficult as it can possibly be.

E-cigs are a huge waste of money. My Brother bought it for his son at Christmas to help him quit. His son took it out of the box, began to assemble it and it broke.
