Summer Stress! That's what the auto-generated e-mail said.

Summer stress; I guess folks have it, or do it to themselves. Most of our problems we create ourselves by putting ourselves in dumb situations when we know we shouldn't. We react to situations like a jerking knee instead of taking a minute to really think about the situation, person, place or thing. 'Tis true.

So the Becomeandex auto generated mails sends this: (I took out the links and such before pasting this in)

Based on some of the blogs and comments we've seen in the EX Community, summer is stressful! Whether it's parties on the patio with smoking friends, family issues or a rough day at work, we're all a little more heated than usual. And the weather isn't really helping, is it?

Now is a great time to think about all the stressful situations you've handled without a cigarette—and how you've managed to re-learn dealing with stress. Do you have a method that works best for you? Share it in a blog post!

So, are you folks out there under some sort of stress due to the fact that it's summer? I am not, but apparently summer causes stress... It never occurred to me that a season of the year could get a person's knickers in a knot... situations... yes... not a season.

Yesterday I did take a nice paddle in the kayak and for the first time... did not have smokes with me. I always rolled up a couple to take with me while out on the water. Yet another activity that I did for the first time without a smoke... it crack me up how they keep tossing themselves in front of me.

Maybe that is what the stress point is... facing an activity and doing it for the first time without smoking. Could be. I didn't want a smoke, but I did think about the fact that I was doing it for the first time without smoking... that re-learning how to live.

Hard to say.

But, on the 16th, this coming Monday, I will not have twisted up a smoke, struck a match to its end, and then took a good long drag, in 6 months! Not too shabby!

Have another good smoke free day folks... and tell me what this summer stress thing is. I have an enquiring mind... and I wanna know!

I too take the pledge. One day at a time. I'm now 24 hours into it. I accept any help I can get. Kayaking sounds so good!
