I had one in my hand....I could almost smell it.... did I light it.......NO!!! I was able to fight the temptation even with it in my hand. I haven't had a cig in 7 days and I almost threw it away. What was I thinking. I am glad I had the strength to hold back.

We are always faced with temptation - it is what we do with that temptation that says alot. Congrats on having the strenth to hold back and not light up!! That is so awesome and a true test to how much you really do want to quit and beat this addiction.

aloha, that was your inner junkie letting you pick up that smoke and toy with it. make sure you have no cigs in the house, car or at work, no ashtray, no lighter that will help. keep changing your mind set about cigs. they are poison, each puff will take that pretty young face of your's and make it look like an old, smelly wrinkled mess. hang tight and be strong you are doing great 7 days is awesome. congrats to you

I'm Proud that you did not light that cigarette up. I'm not going to go on about how you shouldn't have had the cigarette in the first place, others have already done that. I'm just going to tell you that it might be a good idea to go to the site; www.whyquit.com. It will explain about the addictive behaviors and thoughts we develop while smoking and help you understand what you need to change. You have the strength to go through this. Everything worthwhile in life takes an effort.....that includes your life. Don't play with temptation. It's hard enough without it.
