THANK YOU ALL MY FRIENDS,  I AM ALWAYS SO PRESSED FOR TIME THAT i CAN ONLY GET TO OUR SITE HERE ON A WEEKEND.  SO I CAN'T RETURN EACH MESSAGE;  WASH TO FOLD, NEED TO VACUUM, NEED TO MOVE AROUND AS I ALWAYS USED TO SMOKE WHILE AT MY DESK. SO TO ALL OF YOU:  I had a stumble.  Had a few puffs last Monday while driving home from Philly with my ex who is a smoker.  After 2 hours in bumber to bumber traffic and him being grumpy I gave in and asked him for a smoke.  Had about 1/2 of it when I realized I didn't like the Taste.  Plus a carotid that had been cleaned out in 2005 is 80% blocked again.  I must quit but that day.....it just got past me.  I want to see my Grandchildren grow up and my children become middle aged.  Thank you for all your support.  Sorry, I only have time on the wekends to get on the site, please don't take it personally.

There are worse things than dying - like living with a stroked out body while on oxygen for COPD. Sometimes dying sounds so clean and easy - but there are slooooow painful ways to live way too long! You have the power to turn this around but the clock is ticking.....

Thomas is so right.  Do you have a smartphone so you could download an APP, you need to stay close by and you need to read blogs and reinforce the reasons for your quit.  You know what you need to do, please don't put it off until you have no choice.

I don't think anyone takes your not being here "personally"...this is YOUR quit, my friend, we can support you and try to help you but we can't keep your quit for you.  You own it.

I also had blocked arteries to both legs  - but my surgeon told me if I continued to smoke, I would need the surgery again and would probably not be healthy enough for him to do it.  You might want to give that some thought.  The alternative, for me, was maybe to lose a limb.

Please set a new quit date and make the decision not to smoke NO MATTER WHAT.  Did you take distraction tools on your trip with you?  If not - lesson learned!!!

Perhaps you can print some information to keep with you when you can't get to the site?  Blogs you found particularly helpful, maybe?  The list of things to distract you?  Have you written down your reasons to quit and what you hope to gain?  They would be something to keep with you, too.  We are here for you, and would never take your absence personally  - although we might worry about you!!!

find yourself a smooth rock or something to roll in your smoking hand's fingers.  Learn to close your eyes and envision something that relaxes you,   Perhaps a sunset, a cool breeze, a bubbling brook.  I know Smartphones eat up data while using the internet.  Excellent advice on printing information or finding someone that can print it off for you.  I know in my case when I get stressed (even now at 4 months), I will put my hands in my hoodie's pocket and clasp my hands and massage both thumbs.  it works.  Have faith in yourself, you can do this !!!
