Struggling...

Hey all.  It's been a while since I've posted, but things have been pretty crazy.  My huband went into surgery and had some serious complications, and now he unexpectedly has to be on disability for several months.  He needs constant care, and my mother in law has been staying with us so I can continue to work.

This has been so incredibly stressful for every reason - physically, emotionally, etc.   The dynamic within my house is SO difficult right now..it has really been hard to  bear.  To make things worse, it feels like this has altered all of our personalities - we all have different roles, different reactions, different opinions than I ever would have expected.  It is making me feel really lonely.

I'm wondering if there's anyone out there who has been a caregivier for their spouse for an extended period of time?   Do you have any advice?  Would love it if you would email me directly.

I will say, through all of this, I haven't smoked.   Not one puff, not even when my husband was in ICU and things were looking really grim.  I'm not going to say I haven't thought about it - but I'm not going to do it.
