Stressful week.

My bipolar son moved home Sunday night.  He was gone for 2 months and was very inconsistent in taking his meds while he was gone.  I thought I would beat him when he had a pretty nasty attitude with me on Monday, but he's doing much better after nearly a week of taking the meds consistently.  He has also put in quite a bit of effort into looking for a job this week.  I'm trying really hard to treat him more like an adult.  It's difficult when you have a 19 year old who needs to be reminded to use deodorant or brush his teeth.  I know this lack of grooming is consistent with the depression phase he's in now so I'm trying to be patient.

I've also been dealing with a very sick  Siberian Husky this week.  I thought he had vestibular syndrome and he probably did, but he also suffered from anemia due to an uncontrolled tick infestation.  He was 14 years old and we had to have him put to sleep this morning.  It was either put him to sleep, pay $800 for blood transfusions, or bring him home to die.  We couldn't afford the treatment (and there was no guarantee he'd even live through it) and I couldn't let him die at home.  So, my kids and I said goodbye to our long-time friend this morning.

I ate way too much today and I didn't exercise like I usually do, but I didn't smoke over it.
