Still Trekking Along

To begin, I want to welcome each and every new member to the site. You have made one of the first, and best, decisions of your life. Quitting smoking will save some problems later in your life possible.

Your health is so important and needs to be preserved at all costs.

I didn't listen to the warnings and now I am dealing with the results. We are all here to do our best to support you and help you quit those death sticks.

To those new to NML,just follow the trail left by those that have gone before. Trust your camel to keep you on the trail. They have made this trip many times.

The packs are loaded with supplies and there are supply caches at every oasis along the trail. Take advantage of each of them to rest and resupply.

Keep a sharp eye out for traps set by Nic and his bunch. They could be anywhere along the train.

About halfway across the desert you will come to a very deep dropoff. This is Desolation Point. Many have fallen over the edge here and lost their quit. That is why this area surrounding the drop is called The Relapse Rocks.

This old traveler is still making the journey back and forth across the desert of NML. He has had to slow down and take more rest stops however.

When I stop, I stay in the tent where I am shaded from the heat and sun.

I wish you all safe travel along the trail.

The journey is not easy, but, it can be done. Many have gone before you and are waiting on the other side of the desert to welcome you.

Take each day as it come and you will make the crossing safely.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.

Larry the Caravan Master.

It is wonderful to have a guide like you to make the trip with.  Thank goodness I have started using the Lobelia which they took out of quit smoking products, why you may ask?  Because it worked!!  2nd attempt quit.  Keep the good vibes coming

Hi Barbara.....you look so wonderful.  I am so encouraged by the support of your contacting me.  I am really enjoying my re-acquaintance with become an ex.  I am already down to 4 cigarettes a day and have set my quit date for 7-10.  With the encouragement from people who have been successful I can do.  I once quit for 14 years but allowed situational stresses to send me back to the valley. Thanks again

To the Caravan master

Going on day 13, and used natures own Lobelia which was successful, but without education, as any addict I overdid it and my blood pressure soared.  After a visit to the ER, the doctor did a little research and found I was on the right track but now I am done with cravings.  Dealing with the subsequent depression and emotional issues, returned to AA Big Book,  Recognizing that addiction is cunning baffling and powerful is carrying me over.  Thanks for your welcome words, and adivce.  I am not over confident but having my meds readjusted to this situational circumstance.  Tis a wicked and sly addiction indeed.

About the Author
I am a male that underwent coronary artery bypass X3 (triple) on 10/22/13 at the age of 55. I was living on about 20-30% of one coronary artery and my left heart output was only 20% to 25%. I spent a week in the hospital after surgery and went home. Then had to go back a day later for another week because I had pneumonia. Finally a few days because of a slight arythmia. All told it has been about 2 1/2 weeks. I am past the cravings by now and only have the urges to contend with. I really don't suggest that anyone quits smoking using this technique though. I'll have to carry the scars from that day for the rest of my life. The large one down the center of my chest, and the ones from several "silent" infarctions. I came that close to the next world. Never again will I subject my body to that (at one point in my life I was smoking 5 packs of cigarillos a day). I now have to say N.O.P.E. (Not One Puff Ever) every day of my life. TheOldGoat-Joan, I miss you terribly my friend. Elder Lists Guilia's: (/blogs/Giulia-blog/2017/06/18/elders-list-ao-december-7-2016 ) or Smorgy's (Chronological Elder List)
