Spring is coming

Spring is coming - I feel it even though it is -17° here today with a windchill of -31° but we have not had snow for almost 2 days! What a winter this has been.  And I am so looking forward to spring! I had my first COVID-19 shot Saturday and will have my second one in four weeks which makes me feel very hopeful.

I still having a lot of health problems and even though I had an epidural last week it really isn’t helping and of course the doctors are saying it’s all degenerative which is a nice way of saying they can’t do anything which is very depressing. But along with the depressing winter and cold, health problems, and my poor daughter’s issues with her fractured ankle in three places, I know things are going to get better and I have always love spring.

I finally reached six months without smoking and it really is so much better. I am still very focused on my freedom from smoking and no I will never ever smoke a cigarette again. Remember I have all the power!  I still come here to the site every day and I so admire all the wonderful people that contribute to the site. If only they knew that it can be a very small comment but it can really change your thought processes and can be so very helpful.  And every day you can find a comment that is helpful!

I started smoking at 25 and it took me a year to learn to inhale so I really was hooked by 26. I have smoked 50 years and quit August 11, 2020 so today is my 28th day. My husband of 54 years died March 1 and he had smoked for 65 years. I knew when he died I would quit as I had tried 5 times before but his smoking made me jealous or I could smell it. Used him as an excuse to start smoking again. I am retired from a university. Raised in Nebraska and living in Iowa since 1978.
