Ok, so I have decided to run/walk a 5K in June. I'm going to take all of my frustrations out on my body (in a positive way this time). I am setting a goal to work out 1 hour everyday. If that gets to easy, then I'll step it up to 2 hours.

I've also come to realize that the main reason for all of the sadness/tears was because I never dealt with the feelings I was faced with when I started back up again. I know what I need to do. Grab that bull by the horns, and face my demons. It's going to be a bumpy ride, but I'm buckled in! Wish me luck, awe who am I kidding, you already have! Thank you! You may never know what you have done for me. I'll blog as much as possible!

Peace and Namaste-Mrs. Brock

Hi. Just read your profile page, and I must say- you are a busy woman. So, I almost hesitate adding anything to your list of things to do. And exercise is indeed about the best thing you can do to distract yourself, as well as getting all kinds of good chemicals flowing naturally through your body. But, as for your emotional ups and downs- that is a part of the quit process, and I would suggest coming here daily to read and learn, as well as blog and vent if you feel so inclined. I am getting close to the 6 month mark on my quit, and I am constantly learning new things by reading other folk's blogs. Hang in there- sounds like you are learning quickly.

Hey there! Good luck with your 5K. I know you'll feel so much better once you get into the routine of working out. Try not to beat yourself too much either! If you miss a day, that's ok. Just always say NOPE

Thanks everyone! I agree, I need to be on this site everyday! Also, I know once I'm focused on a goal...well get out the way! I'm gone! I just needed a little push,  and my girlfriend, since 3rd grade, sent me an invite to a 5K in June. So I'm doing this! I have been praying and meditating for something to do with my time and energy, aside from the other stuff that I have mentioned on profile. I'm up for the challenge! I'll keep you posted!

Great for you! The focus you mention is great, you can use that very determination to stay smoke free! I have had more sadness and tears since quitting than should ever be allowed. I am finally feeling better as of this week and getting a job and not having so much free time certainly helps! Your mood and emotions will level off and the exercise will help you greatly!  The ride may be bumpy but it wil be worth it!

I agree that the ride will be bumpy but it's absolutely worth it, you're all buckled in and got the bull by the horns and with your determination you will rock this quit!

The ride is very bumpy, but exercise and meditaion heps drastically.  Your focus and ambition is amazing.  I too, eventually want to participate in a run/walk event.  I am trying to get my stamina up by using a treadmill.  Good luck to you!
