Thanks for the info MrsP. Although, there are a few folks who have used these ecig a as a quit smoking aid and some have been successful, they are clearly designed to continue an new style of addiction. By the time they (govt, medical experts, etc.) figure out all the ins and out of these ecigs, the use of them will have spread to phenomenal numbers. Among these new users will be our children.
How can it be legal to create, market, and sell a product that has no benefit, makes you addicted, possibly has even more poisonous effects, and takes your hard earned money. Oh yeah, they already are doing that with cigarettes! Uuuggghhhhh!!!
E-cigarettes don't help, a person is more likley to pick up a regular cigarette when their e-cig isn't available, Using an e-cig is like smoking, I am with Dale.
If you must use an nrt , try patches or gum alot less like smoking. and will help with the intial hand to mouth habit.
stay away from e- cigs, I have seen them fail miserably with others.
If you want to do something about Ecigs contact your congressman and senator and let them know you want Ecigs to be regulated under the FDA as a tobacco product.
This article is written for investors to decide if they want to make money buying stock on this product. If you go to the blue highlighted to regulate them as tobacco products and give it a tap, it will take you to 'view rule'! Please note this is viewed as 'financially significant' to our government! We need to make a fuss and be heard during this 'public hearing'! Believe it, the people making money on these products(mostly tobacco industry) are making sure their voice is heard at the highest level possible.
If you look at the gov document, you will notice that may.nelson@fda.hhs.gov is the contact person for the Center for Tobacco Products. Maybe she should hear from the people!?!
Interesting article. I totally agree with everything said here. E-cigs are purely a substitute for regular cigs when smoking is prohibited - PERIOD. They are not intended for use as a quitting aid and they do not work as one either! I believe those who were actually quit using them would have quit just as well without them.
Always a dissenting opinion! I just picked up an e-cig yesterday and it has helped me tremendously. I bought the nicotine-free American made juice. I was ready to throw in the towel yesterday morning and smoke after 31 days of this quit. Right now -- usually the worst time for me -- I don't want a cigarette nor do I need the e-cig.
This is my fifth quit in three years. I am a smoker of 40 years duration. Every time I quit the first few weeks are great. Then the obsessive thoughts begin and intensify to the point I literally drive myself crazy - as well as my poor husband! I start smoking just to quiet the craziness. My longest quit was for four months! I have tried cold turkey, Chantix, Wellbutrin and the patch. Granted this is only one day but so far it's working better than any of the approved smoking cessation aids.
Hi, Sierra! I sincerely hope you will be here still quit in One Year but pardon me if I doubt... I quit with N.O.P.E. 1141 days ago! And yes, a year from now I EXpect to be here! Best Wishes!
I think if u gonna quit then quit, I don't understand how inhaling something else in u lungs is gonna help there has not been enough studying done on e cigs only thing going in my lings are the inhaler I have to use now rest of my life all because of smoking good luck
I too am using the ecig. I used it a good bit when I first decided to quit. Upon some great advise from those on here about how its trading one dependacy for another. I thought about it n use it less. I only use it when I absolutely can't stand my irritability n am about to go off on somebody. Today I went riding n listening to music to calm the craving. I did find just holding it n my hand or having it n my pocket helped calm the anxiety without actually using it. Opinions on this theory or other options would be appreciated!
