So surprised at all the "quitters"

This is my second blog and 10 days into not smoking.  There we so many blogs added since yesturday, I can't find mine to see if anyone replied.  Which is good, so many people quit it's great.  So I'm blogging again, and this is real knew to me.  So far I have just gone cold turkey. No chantrix, no patch, no gum, nothing.  This is my only support, as I actually have no smokers in my family or friends. How strange huh?  The friends and family are proud of me, but never smoked, so  have no idea what a pain and how hard this is.  I'm already overweight and have replaced more food for cigarettes.  I must learn to excercise!  But my question is, since I feel like I'm white nuckling this most of the time.  Would it be of any help to start using Chantrix now?  Or is it better to stay away from it since I've made day 10? Thanks to you all for your comments. My motivation so far is telling people I quit, and not wanting to have to say I started again if they ask me how I'm doing.

YAY for you on your tenth day!!! That is AWESOME! The nicotine is almost entirely gone from your body now. You are now relearning your life without smoking. 🙂 Alot of us have been helped by the teaching on www.quitsmokingonline.com. Also, you can click on your own page (my page) at the top of the screen and see all your blogs. Then you can see more replies. Also you can add info about your smoking history there and get a countdown clock if you want, add friends, join more groups. 🙂

I guess I wouldn't recommend starting the chantix if you've already made it to day 10, sounds like you are doing ok without  it. Look at your family and friends who do not smoke. Take a good look. They are living proof that you can get through your day without them. They are all the inspiration you need. We will also be here if you need support. You can do this!

I agree with Laurie! Good job on making it ten days. I am still on almost two full days but this is my third attempt. I am sticking it out this time. i'm also going cold turkey because I'm pregnant ( I know it doesn't make sense that I would smoke while pregnant). The online material really helps. keep it up

I'd have to say that I think you're doing just fine with the "cold turkey" method!  If you're on your 10th day and have remained smoke free, you're doing great :-}  I myself used the nictone patch for the first 2 weeks but stopped them due to my skin breaking out.  I really think after I stopped them I started to feel better with a little more irritability but at least my body wasn't itching all over.  I am a pale-skinned redhead though so that could have been a part  of my problem (my skin is just too sensitive).  lol

CONGRATS on making it 10 days so far!  YOU ARE DOING AWESOME!!

Day 10, you're doing great! Around my 10th day, I had a rough time for a couple of days. I got past them and the days flew right on by after that. I went cold turkey after anywhere from 10-20 cigs a day for 20 years. You can do it!

Laurie is right that you can see all your blogs by clicking on "my Page".  Your first post appeared in Forums and that is why you can't find it.  This one is on your page so even if it gets buried by lots of others, you can go to your page and see all the comments.  I reread all my blogs on each month anniversary to remind myself of where I've been.  You are at the stage of your Quit where you are working on finding a new normal and establishing a routine without smoking so my advice would be to not start Chantix or a NRT at this stage.

I agree with Laurie about the site - http://quitsmokingonline.com - really helped me relearn how to handle things/life without cigarettes. I think after 10 days - I wouldn't start the Chantix.... You are doing great! Congratulations!!
