Smoking IS less stressful than quitting....

....until you have a heart attack or stroke or get that ominous diagnosis of cancer or emphysema! If you haven't YET had a smoke related illness, do you have it firmly in your mind that you are playing Russian Roulette with every single puff??? I for one am not a gambler - I don't even buy lottery tickets - but I gambled away my LIFE until that unbelievable diagnosis COPD applied to ME! Be smarter than that! Not One Puff Ever just for today NO MATTER WHAT!

On second thought since I really quit I found out that the title phrase is a Nico - Lie!!!

Quitting is less stressful than smoking!

I was on the verge of being diagnosed with asthma when I decided to quit. A health scare can be a real wake up call.

We believed that title for a long time, but now we know differently. Get rid of the smoke and you can see the truth.

Once the "smoke screen" is lifted quitting is damn easy.  I refuse to smoke.

Great blog Thomas and oh so true I am alway happy to read your sensitive and heart warming blogs..May your life be filled with all that you deserve...I know i have appreciated all of your kind words since you have joined..It is to sad that we can't get everyone to stop smoking but there are people whom I am sure never will I see them all the time oxygen tank on the wheel chair sneaking out for a smoke I guess maybe they think its just to late. I know my Mom quit when she was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer well she said she did after her death which was only six months to the day we found butted out cig all over the house..Its a very sad addiction it has taken a lot of people I love from me....my dad died from heart disease he also sneaked and smoked for a few week after he got home then he realized if he wanted more that the six weeks they gave him he had to get rid of the smoking we had him a wonderful five years after he gave them up..But the addiction allowed me to continue smoking for a lot of years after that ..so you see I understand the addiction and I know  I will always be a addict and I also know you are right its a lot less stressful than smoking to not be ..sorry I got way off track hope it is okay I am a littl sad today....Hugs Deb

I got the emphysea diagnosis 5 years ago, but like an idiot I kept smoking.  Just thought I was "a little short of breath."  How stupid could I be?  I watched my grandfather die from this, gasping for air.  I finally got it through my thick head and I love the smoke-free life.  You're right, quitting is much less stressful than smoking.  Thank you for that thought.
