So I just found this site a couple of days ago and have read almost everything on here. I have started tracking my cigarettes ~ was going to start tomorrow, but I am anxious to get the show on the road! My tentative quit date is June 22nd ~ which is also my birthday. What a wonderful present to give myself and my children! I actually hope to be cigarette free before then and only using NRT...... We'll see how it goes!

Hello and Welcome to the site. Get to know your triggers so you can be prepared for them. Be prepared, for this, the most important health decision you will ever make. I used each trigger as a tool for the next urge to smoke. It made me stronger each time. Smoking took up alot of time so keep yourself busy. You are getting another chance at life, smoke-free this time! It really is a better way of life.

Hello!

Try to move that quit date up by 2 or 3 weeks if you can. That way the first week or so is behind you by the time your birthday rolls around and most of the anxiety will be gone and you will TRULY be able to celebrate and ENJOY your birthday this year. You will be celebrating your re-birth 🙂

Heck if you move the date a bit earlier and save a little extra money not buying smokes you can get yourself a REALLY nice birthay gift 🙂

Good idea, Connie! I do want my quit date to be before my birthday so that day is not spent stressing about how I am going to get through this.... Think I may move it up a week or two!

I love the idea of getting myself something nice for my birthday!
