Serious Thinking

Quitting smoking is probably the hardest thing I'm going to have to do. It is a very long process where some people have to get their mind straight before they stop puffing, and some can just do it cold turkey with will power. In my mind I continue to repeat to myself a quote that someone sent to me "i'd rather be an ex smoker with an occasion desire to smoke than a smoker with the desire to stop doing it". Although I have not quit yet, I am starting to see the importance of quitting as smoking continues to interfere with my daily life. I'm working through the ex-plan, such as waiting after certain situations before lighting up. Since my biggest challenge and trigger is coffee drinking, I'm finding it the hardest to work through in the morning. But for some people, it is a long process, and I think that it will have to be a long process for me too before I kick the habit for good. I always promise to give myself just one day, but i can never seem to get through it. the mornings are fine, but the night time just drags on and on with out a cigarette, so i cave. i constantly envision myself being a non smoker and running and what not, but it's a very hard addiciton to break. I'm currently working the ex-plan now, and hopefully i can continue to take those major steps to be able to drink my coffee and drive my car without the nicotine connection dragging me down.
