Scared of change???

Mike.n.Atlanta

Scared of change…is that your problem. Not really scared of quitting but frightened to death of who you may become. You’ve grown so comfortable in your shell you don’t think you can handle life without the weed. You say “But I have my friends, my favorite haunts, my routine…I don’t know how to be a different person.”

I’ve said before that quitting isn’t all about quitting cigarettes. If you quit, the new you will follow & you’ll realize that is who you wanted to be all along. It's remarkable what we can do & who we can become when we rid ourselves of that little junkie between our ears. I’m just sayin…

Keep on keepin on,

You can't change anything until you change your mind.

Thomas3.20.2010

Do the difficult things while they are easy
And do the great things while they are small.
A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes.
Don't resist them – that only creates sorrow.
Let reality be reality.
Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.

Thank you my Lord for being with me through all the changes and allowing me to do the many things that I have had the opportunity to do in my life. For this I have been Blessed. Each stage of our life changes and every change makes us who we are. We can only grow this way.

This journey of quitting gives us benefits beyond measure - includiong realizing who we really are when our minds are not constantly doing the addict-think.  There are so many wonderful blogs of discovery here. Going back to college?  Running a 5K?  Becoming a calmer, kinder person?

It's ALL possible when we have the extra time, mental solitude and health to just BE!

Great blog, Mike!

EXcellent blog Mike and once we get to that good place in our quits we realize how much better life is without the crutch of cigarettes!

I wonder how I found the time to smoke. You get use to doing without "smoke breaks' and your whole perspective on life changes for the better.

What a wonderful blog, Mike, I definitely had to get used to this new person and I really like her, she doesn't back down like the smoking Ellen, she sticks up for herself, says things that need to be said and grows a little more each day.

Keepin' on keepin' on!

I began this quit journey on October 1, 2004. I'm not doing it for my wife or children nor in memory of the many family members or friends I have lost due to this addiction. I'm doing it for Mike.
