Share your quitting journey
Saturday morning is here and I am excited to be awake, alive, clean and smober! In an hour I am going to take my water aerobics class and get my blood really pumping for the day! I get to do laundry and poop patrol in the backyard and all kinds of chores around the house. Now it isn't the chores that thrill me, but it is the fact that I won't have to stop and sit down and smoke a cigarette every 15 minutes that really makes me happy. Stamina is really improving and I couldn't be more happy! Wish it was warmer this weekend, I would take my bike out and ride along the river. But according to the groundhog this morning that is less than 2 months away! What a great time to stop smoking!
I talked with my sister the other day and told her of my quit. She is so happy for me and we are excited to see each other in March. She has close to 20 years smober and while I thought she quit using Wellbutrin, she corrected me and told me she was in the initial trail run for Chantix and was one of the first people to use the drug. This is the same drug I am taking now! Small world I tell ya! Made me even more determined to hold on the this quit forever! I look forward to seeing my goddaughter and spending every minute with her, not having to hide around the corner a couple of times an hour to get my nic fix. She knew I smoked but I just didn't want her to actually see me doing it. She is a teenager now and I pray she does not pick up this horrible addiction! All of her family in Calif. are non-smokers, so she has a really good chance of never picking up. Some day I will tell her my story...
Have a big, beautiful, crisp, clean smoke-free weekend all!
Peace...
