Cool - thanks for SHARING - MY husband and I were going shopping and WE saw OUR first cardinal - he flew right in front of OUR vehicle and WE FREAKED OUT - - He flew safely out of the way - WHEW - He was hugest cardinal we had ever seen and BEAUTIFUL red - this is on a bookmark that I received for Christmas - the cardinal is a symbol with its crimson color of vitality and hope and restoration - the red color reminds us of the blood that Jesus Christ shed for the payment of our sins - He gives us hope for each day and the promise of eternal life - in Him - the vitality of our faith brings joy and hope to others - this is the Legend of the Cardinal - just SHARING
wowindingrl I loved that about the cardinal. I will never look at the cardinal the same way again. Did you also know that they are one of the most faithful birds as they mate for life
I sit on my back porch every morning drinking my coffee when temps permit Listening to the birds wake up and start singing in the spring I found no better way to start my day. Spring has truly arrived hear trees are in bloom and Robins and other birds are here. I even cut the grass Thursday. I live in Southwest Ohio a little west of Cincinnati
My crocuses have come and gone;the robins never left the mid-Atlantic this winter because we didn't really have one, but the birds are waking me up most mornings now, and my bluebells and trees all have swelling buds.
The birds are in full force. Lots of singing and visiting the bird feeder. A few weeks ago when we had the "worm moon" I was at my little park early in the morning and the field was covered with robins searching for worms. In all my early walks over the years, I never witnessed this before.
Our bluebirds have just completed their first (usually of three!) nests for the season. Mowed for the first time yesterday. It's prettying up here. Glad the Robins have landed in your neck of the woods, Joni.
