Reward Day!!! and Bullies

I finished my assignment early, so I got today off school! I got to sleep in, (I do have to work tonight, but that's not until 4pm), and now I'm enjoying my coffee before I do a work out. Then I'll eat something, have a shower, and then I'm going to the MALL! My credit limit was recently increased, and I'm going to use some of it to get myself some things that smell nice. I LOVE the smell of my clothes, hair and hands now! I smell great! Who knew? haha

On a more serious note, I'm not sure what kind of spiritual practices people follow, but I study The Science of Mind, and I just finished reading "The Prosperin Power of Love" by Catherine Ponder. It was VERY helpful in my quit (especially after my slip, dammit, dammit, dammit!) And in the book there is a method of prayer described that really spoke to me. It was like "YEAH! That feels right!" What you do is write letters to angles. Your angel, your friend's angels, and especially your enemies' angels. Or the angel of someone you care about but can't reach through reasoning with them. There is apparently an "outilne" of how to do it, and I've sent away for it (old school snail mail),. but I'm pretty sure anything that comes from the heart must be right. So I'm doing it for those bullies we keep talking about. Those folks who for whatever reason think it's ok to disrespect us in subtle or not so subtle ways. We use to run away from it and have our cigarette, then when we came back from our smoke we would be more "reasonable" haha, and all the while we were just letting them get away with treating us like crap. It has been the hardest part of this quit and the area of my life where I've changed and learned the most. I'm still in the beginning stages, and slipping up did nothing for my self-esteem, which is exactly what those bullies were hoping for, so DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE I DID! (I went drinking...so I gave up alcohol too...duh...seems obvious, doesn't it?) But back to taking a stand, yes, I found this awesome method of prayer and I wanted to share it with all of you because I know we are all seeking peace and tranquility in our lives. I think it's a great idea! Especially if you don't feel comfortable confronting the person head on, or what it it's your son or daughter? You can't exaclty banish them from your life. So I bought a pretty little booklet made of recycled paper, all decorated on the cover, hand made, I believe, and I started my first angel letters to my own angel. Part of my reward shopping trip is to buy a few more of these little books for the other people in my life whose angels I want to write to. I've had this little booklet for a couple of months and it's so pretty I was waiting for a special purpose to present itself, and I have discovered it.

Well, my coffee's almost done, time to work out! I see a lot of people on here, especially the newbies find working out really helps them feel stronger and more relaxed. I agree completely. I'm going to start running I think - outside. The downside is that here in Edmonton Alberta, we get about 4 months of the year with no snow on the ground...but there's always indoor tracks...I think running literally will help me with my tendancy to "run away" figuratively.

Congratulations to everyone who has quit smoking! I love reading all your blogs, I come here first thing every morning to see all my friends and get that support and offer what I can. I'm so sorry I slipped up - won't happen again, I promise! I've made sure of that by banishing the biggest bully in my life - alcohol! I'm using a method called "Rational Recovery", which teaches independant life-long abstinence using Addictive Voice Recognition Therapy. You can google it and check it out if you want - it applies to any addiction and is helping me quit cigarettes as well as alcohol. I'm by no means an alcoholic, but if drinking is going to jeopardize my quit, it's got to go!

Sorry for the long blog! lol Everyone have a great day!!!
