Quitting Again

I know it’s been awhile since I was here; but I felt that I didn’t need help because I had my Nicotine Anonymous group. I know now that I need both.

I recently started smoking again because of all the negative things that have been going on in my life. I realize that is not a good excuse to start smoking again but I thought it would help. Instead it is just making me tired and hating myself.

I picked the new quit date of February 14th because I find that cutting back helps me alot more than going cold turkey.
I hope I can get there help to achieve my goal here without judgement.
Thank you

More support the better I think . Judgement is really how one sees it I think . I used to think I was judged when in fact the advise they gave me was to help me and it did . They were up front , honest and had my best interest at heart . Kicked my butt when needed to . Wish I could thank them all in person now and apologise  to them for thinking they were just being judgemental.

You can do this . Glad you are here . Congrats on your upcoming quit date .

I will try to be careful within my words when I support you if that's what helps but always remember we are human and just try to do our best . The hope we have for all is they will take what helps in the moment , leave the rest , but keep everything in mind cause one day it will all be made to good use .

Welcome back .. I believe you will make this quit stick .

Glad you are back!

You understand now that there is never a good reason to smoke; there are but excuses.  You know not to make that same mistake again!  Hard lesson, but now this can be your forever quit. YOU can make it so!

I hope you did some reading for your last attempt, changed up your routines and made a list of things you can do instead of smoke when the going gets tough.  If not - do it now.  As you cut down over the next week, think about why you are lighting up, and what you can do instead when you quit.  Promise yourself you will come here and blog"HELP" before you light another cigarette.  On February 13th, destroy and toss any cigarettes left in your possession (and butts, too!  ).

Let us know how we can help!

Sorry you lost your  quit, but glad you're back  again and picked a new date.   There's no judgement on my end--I've attempted to quit so many times.  Along with some aids and the Ex., I cut down also for my quit.  We're here for you.  Please reach out next time before you smoke when you're contemplating smoking.   I know it helped me several times.

Looking forward to celebrating with you on the 14th.

Glad u are back.  As long as you Learned what, where u went wrong U will be just fine. We All are Addicted some of us don't think about smoking anymore and are here just to support.  It's not a one size fits all situation. Read everything you can get your hands on. Make a plan and stick to it. Post when you need help. Pray ask God to take all desire away. He will I promise he took it from me over 3 1/2 years ago.

Grammy , after I had written I went back to your profile and read all your posts and some of the responses as well .. you may find it helpful to read your own posts again as well . A refresher of the rougher days but also the good days when you thought you couldn't make it , but did .

I still read daily as many posts and responses as I can to keep me fixed to my quit . They remind me to be an overcomer I have to do the work through all the  struggles , through all the stress and grief , self doubt and depression triumphs big and little are what energies me to keep going .  Sometimes it's the little things in the beginning that are the big things . I admire  newcomers so much cause I have never forgotten how hard it is to quit .

You may find going back and reading what you write some things through taking the NA course had helped and has changed you in a way that's been helpful or maybe some things haven't changed and maybe what you have to do to change your thoughts or actions when smoking speaks louder to you that your desire to stay quit .

I Was grateful to read your posts and responses , some helpful stuff there . Thank you for sharing your journey with us . You will succeed this time . I feel it , I see a change in you already .
