Quit Day #5

Well, I've survived so far. Day 2 was difficult and I dealt with it by sleeping a bunch. Probably not the best way to deal with it, but it worked for me. Day 3 & 4 was mainly spent at work and I discovered that there are many smokers at my new job. I could smell everytime they returned from a smoke break.

It's harder for me when I'm at home. I've had some bizarre dreams and I was extremely angry in all of them. I think I've been getting through the cravings when I have them. I keep in mind that they will only last for 15 minutes and try to do something else to pass that time.

I do have to admit that after quitting for only 5 days - I do feel a whole lot better!!!

Good for you Margie! 5 days is an amazing accomplishment you should be very proud. I slept more the first couple of weeks as well. I think your body just needs the time to heal and you need the time to learn what to do with all that extra time. I had tons of crazy dreams my first few weeks. I used the patch and stopped sleeping with it on overnight and that helped. I have heard that nonpatch folks experience the dreams as well but know that in any event they will also pass.

Everything will get better day by day!

We can do this!

Peace Susan Day 170!

margie,

i can understand your struggles. i am on day 3 and it sucks right now. I was doing great, i do feel great, but stress causes tears, anger, sadness and cravings like mad! i am also finding myself just waiting it out, crying and breathing through it. Smoking is not an option, but man is this hard!!
