Question about counting

Hi All,  I'm curious those of you who use counters is it really motivating?  I am unsure of this for myself as I feel like in part I want to forget about cigarettes and not really count the days, but then I can see how it would be motivating to see those days add up.  Any thoughts you experienced quitters?

I myself try not to count them everyday, i had to look at the calender the other day to count the days, I am proud of myself, but I don't feel that helps me in any way, but alot of other people do, so it's whatever way is best for u. Stay strong!!!!

I don't use one mainly because I'm not PC saavy enough to figure out how to set it up. Besides, a ball park estimate is close enough for me.

I like to look at  it as a little bit of added "incentive" in my quit. I figure if I relapse, I'll have to start the clock all over again, and now that I'm almost in triple digits, (I've got 93 days, I think, haven't really looked today) I figure it would really suck to have wasted all that time getting the thing up to that many days to have to restart it at day 1. I dunno! just the way my pin-headed brain works!  🙂

By the way... I only look at mine every week or 2 now that I'm past the very beginning stage.

I lost mine a while back and tried once to put it back and failed so left it alone. It does sometimes cause a trigger reading on here but more help I guess than not.

Thanks for your insightful blog

Het Sam,

I used mine early in the quit. It help me with a reason. After about thirty days it didn;t matter much any more. Now it is just nice to see how much money I have saved. I think anything that you can latch onto to help give you a reason to not go back is a good thing. good luck

Absolutely.  I did not think I would ever quit.  It helps me feel good about myself and encourages me to keep going.  I can never say that I can't accomplish anything because this is the one thing I did.
