Another snowstorm in Minnesota. We're plenty used to them by now. Was driving home, stopped at the gas station to fill up. This was the place I used to buy cigs daily. I finished pumping my gas, went inside as this place still doesn't have pay  at the pump, saw all the smokes behind the counter. Payed for the gas, zipped up my coat, put on my gloves, and walked out the door with a smile! That is control! That is the ability to say no to nicotine, something I thought I would NEVER have. I never get tired of having that power over cigs, I smile every time! You can have this power too! Just don't smoke! You can do it!

Reminds me of when I switched from KOOLS to Marlboro and sometimes at the counter automatically said KOOLS before I changed my tune!!! I still don't go into gas stations! Would I just start talking and say Marlboro before I even thought??? It's past time I go inside and find out!!! That neuro connection can be rewired too! The main thing is to do whatever it takes to protect your quit! NO MATTER WHAT!

We're supposed to be hit with a big storm (Chicago area) starting tonight into Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, too.  My hubby just went to the grocery store to pick up a few things, and my thought was, "I have to go to the convenience store to pick up an extra pack!"  Ok, that was weird, I'm quit 3+ months - I didn't even have a craving, it was just that "habit" thought.  Of course I'm not going to follow up on it, and I'm actually chuckling about it right now, just like you smile when you have the power.  I'm with you - we can all do it!

I went to fill up today also and was sitting in my car while it filled since the wind was blowing SO hard. I noticed that the inside of my car stays SO clean since I quit smoking. 🙂 We rock!

The problem I have now is that I'm a gum junky......I stand in front of the gum rack and oohh and aww at all the different types of gum and omg if they have something new that I haven't tried I HAVE to get it. I have about 10 different packs of gum in my purse!! I think that's a problem I can LIVE with :))

Believe it or not, DFW is under a winter storm watch as well!  The Steelers and Packers just got here today and tomorrow it will be under 20 degrees!  Coincidence?  LOL, I think not!!!!   >8~|   I went and got firewood, a lil liquid warmth and found myself thinking the same thing as some others... always before when an ice storm or snow storm hit, I'd be scrambling to make sure I have enough cigs... but it was just the most fleeting of thoughts today.  I laughed at it, and moved on.

Snuggle in, keep the fire going and enjoy your new, all improved winter day ... without a smoke in sight!

Good job!  Yea, this Minnesota winter is getting very old!  Just getting worried about what is going to happen when It melts!!   We flooded bad in 2009, and we have more, and wetter snow now!
