So the last couple of months I have had pain on my right side of my back below the shoulder blade.. This past weekend I went to my  sone baseball tournement and the restrooms were far a good walk, and I was winded. Last out of a dead sleep I woke up because I could not get a breath.. I woke up scared, I dont know if I was dreaming I could not breath or if it was real. So I grabbed an inhaler I got last year when I was sick and took some Nyquil, I slept good no more incidents, but today my back is bothering me again, it is a wierd feeling like a moist heat the act of breathing hurts, not the lungs but my back.. As it wold figure my company dropped the health plan a couple months back, and I am without coverage due to previously having Melanoma in 2003. So the boat I am in feels like it is sinking. I have 2 kids one 17 yearold daughter and an 11 yr old son, and my fear is that I have cancer and that I will not be able to obtain treatment, heck just going to the doctor is a couple hundred $$, I am on the search for a doctor I can afford so I can figure out what the heck is going on with me..

I should not be having these breathing problems, I do not smoke anymore and have not for a long long time.. Anyone out there have any thoughts or may have experienanced something like this?

Do you have a county health clinic? They work on a slide or if your low enuf income its like 20.00 or free. It sounds like plurisy(sp). I'd definitely get it checked.

I had that while I was still smoking.. it seemed to have been muscle spasms, I used to lay back against the heating pad, and stand under a hard shower massage and let it penetrate those muscles...

wonder also how your thyroid is...

I could not breathe, felt like I was havin a heart attack or stroke or something, turned out to be over active thyroid..

look on google and medmd.com and check out your symptoms,

The human body is very complex and your symptoms could come from a wide number of things. I would certanily not jump to the worse possible conclusion. You do need to see a doc and a health clinic as cyn suggested is a good choice if one is available. the not know can drive you crazy. Hope for the best for you.

I would suggest the emergency room. Trouble breathing is something they will take seriously....as they should. Hopefully you can get help there and it very well may be something like pluracy....which they can help you with. Sending prayers - take care!

Strudel has a great point, emergency room, pronto ! you dont have to pay right now and they take breathing issues very seriously, great idea...

I agree with cyn, it sounds like plurisy, which is a form of pnuemonia, and the ER is where you should be headed, like now is a real good time......

No I did not go to the ER. I started feeling somewhat better for a couple of days. But now it is back again. My insurance kicks in on 12/1/2011.. So I am hoping I can wait it out another week. Thanks for checking on me:)
