Phone calls need to be made

Spoke to the man I consider to be my dad last night...he has been in the hospital for weeks and I didn’t even know it. We get so wrapped up in our own crap that we forget how fragile life is and to make those calls more often, especially if you are in a different state. The guilt I felt and sadness for all he went through and I wasn’t even aware made me want to smoke....what a great idea that would be to lose my quit and speed up my COPD...NOT!!!! during this holiday season I hope everyone reaches out to all their loved ones at least by phone...blessings

Lots of things in life will conjure up the thought of smoking for a while.  Feel your feelings and just say nope.  You are doing great.

Family . There is not a  roadmap or book when it comes to how to interact or deal with family. Each family and their dynamics are unique. All we can do is to accept them for who they are. And by doing so love flows from you. I know easier said than done, but is the only sane way to be and not feel guilt or resentment

About the Author
Started smoking to be cool and that was was 46 years ago with a break for boot camp and two pregnancies. Figured one cigarette with a cocktail wouldn’t hurt and now I’m diagnosed with emphysema, huh that didn’t work out as planned...you would think working in a hospital and watching your mother die of lung cancer would motivate me but apparently I’m a slow learner. Scared to quit but I know my life depends on it.
