Description

Well --- not quite sure what to put here.  I'm about to reach my 32nd service anniversary in my job, which is in the HR/Labor world (never boring), so that basically tells you I'm not exactly a spring chicken - More of an experienced, developed chicken.  I started smoking when I was about 19 -- quit once for 6 years, and started back up about 8 years ago.  For any of you who really believe you are strong enough to have 'just one cig to be social on occasion', you really need to give that thought up -  Not gonna happen.  We are addicts, and the sooner you admit it, the better off you'll be.  I gave up my 6 year quit being stupid and enabled on my own deck one summer evening.  Took me about 1 week to get right back to where I had been 6 years earlier.

SO after that rant, I'm going there again.  I'm on day 23 and doing well so far, but I've got no blinders on this time.  I know that I'll always have this issue and there can't be a compromise on this --- there is no middle ground.  I'm greatful for this group -- I didn't go here the first time around (although you may not have been here my first time around).  I feel like this is rather like an AA meeting for Nicotine --- Never been to AA, but if this is what those meetings are like, I totally get it.  Sometime you just need to vent, to whine, to look for help, look for tips --- sometimes it's just as basic as typing to try to help others because it keeps your hands/head busy to quit thinking about a smoke.  Whatever, it all works.  Thanks for welcoming me, and I'll do my best to give back.
