I changed my quit date....again......pathetic, but clearly I'm not ready.  I want to get this right.  I love this site and all you folks.......I don't want to let myself down again.

My new date is Valentines day...I still have a lot more to learn....I thought the weekend would be enough time, but I am just getting in to the suggestions and helpful blogs.

I will continue to post, and stay near to this site.

I know what you're going through. Some on this site would call me a "serial quitter". My anxiety just can't seem to let go of the cigarettes. One left in the pack for tonight and then it's all over. I've had enough. I wish you the best of the luck, and make these two weeks count! Learn as much as you can about what you need to do personally to quit! Best of luck.

there is no luck involved in being successful in quitting.

it is your decision to smoke or not to smoke,

smoking causes anxiety

I realize there is no luck involved, and I realize that smoking causes anxiety. It's a vicious cycle. "Best of luck" is simply a phrase used to wish someone the best in their attempts.

Hello...some things I used to help me quit...it's only been 5 days but it was 5 days before my quit date and I don't have as many cravings as I did at first or "mood swings"

I weined myself off the cigarettes by seeing how long I could wait before my first morning cigarette, I would walk around the house for a little while in the mornings while my kids got ready for school just to keep my mind off of it. At first, I lasted 30 minutes before I had to have that one puff....I would make myself wait longer and longer each day up until I would be up for about 3 hours before I went OUTSIDE to smoke.....I went from a pack and a half down to 3-5 cigarettes a day. I also only smoked half when I went out and the other half was for later. To make a long story short, I ended up going about 13 hours without one 5 days ago because I went back to sleep after my kids left...hey 2-3 hours sleep catches up to  mom of 5. I asked myself why stop there throw them out...THEY ARE GONE 5 DAYS NOW SMOKE FREE AFTER 22 YEARS!!!

During the "cutback" stage for each little thing I did I would pat myself on the back and pretty much motivate myself...well you didn't have that first cigarette, ou didn't ahve to have one before bed either..WOW! YEAH YOU GOT THIS....all the motivation up to the date I said NO MORE helped me gain the confiedence to know I was not going to let anyone including me down this time 🙂 Maybe this will help you out, I gave myself a little over a month and quit almost a week before the date!

YOU CAN DO THIS! You can visit my page to see how the first few days went for me....it wasn't pretty (so to speak) but with all these wonderful people on here I survived 🙂 and you will too. I blogged it out. "Luck is on your side...if you truly want to quit you can do it!

Make the question: I don't smoke anymore. So what can I do instead? I'm with JoJo thinking that you gotta stick to your quit date and jump into the unknown. Come on in! The water's EXcellent!
