Patch question....

I have my patches but I think Im having a reaction to it, but Im not sure. Yesterday I wore one, didnt have a problem, but then when I got home I had an itch under it, just the normal everyday itch, and I didnt realize it was under the patch and I scratched it. Then it started to burn and there is a mark there... well there was last night. It is gone now, could that have just been from scratching the nicotine onto the skin or something like that?

1 Week, 15 hours, 27 minutes and 22 seconds53I have been quit for 1 Week, 15 hours, 27 minutes and 22 seconds (7 days). I have saved $12.87 by not smoking 53 cigarettes. I have saved 4 hours and 25 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 6/1/2008 8:02 PM

Yeah, the nicotine patch will make you itch. Remember Nicotine is nasty stuff. Once you take the patch off, wash the area with soap and water. If you scratch make sure to wash your hands. Most common allergic reaction to patch is from the adhessive.

It is normal. One way to help this is to switch places every day.

I keep a red, raise square for days and it itches like a son of a gun. I'm not sure if it should be doing this. I have red squares all over the place.

Never had the problem with a itch...however, it is recommended that you not put in on the same spot everyday.

I found that the only place I can wear the patch without it bothering me is on my upper back. I switch spots every day and take it off at night.
