One week today!! Maybe.Tomorrow?.

Ok, here's one where everyone can pile one, or just set me straight, but I would imagine I would get divided opinions on this.  I've been smoke free since last Friday night around 10:30 pm.  I am cautiously optomistic about not smoking anytime soon, but I will not be wandering far from this site over this holiday weekend. Here is my questions.  Is your quit date the date of your last one, or the first day without one?  I've seen it and heard it both ways

The first day without one. If it was the date of your last one then you really haven`t quit yet.

I quit 10:30 pm the 25th of Dec. so then at 10:30 on the 26th I had been quit  or completely without a cigarette for 24 hours, 1 day,,, But I say I actually quit at 10:30 the night of the 25th because that was the time I put the last one out. But your so close to a week I feel good about you calling it a week! 🙂    But technically I think tonight at 10:30 makes a complete week.

Date of your last cigarette. Same as the date your were born. I took my last puff at 1:00 am (more or less) on February 11, 2008.

BTW, you are ex-smoker the minute you put out your last cigarette and will be an ex-smoker from that point forward unless you make the decision to go back to smoking all day, every day, for your entire life, until it kills you.

I smoked my last cig on a Friday night at 9 pm and I began to count the next day, Saturday as my first day of freedom. But you can count it any way you like. As long as you don't smoke!    😃

I also had my last smoke at 10:30 on may 31 but I started my count on June 1st........really it's only 1.5 hours different 🙂

But I think you should do what ever way you want.

I think hair splitting is not needed. Count anyway you want! Just keep the clock moving! If anyone questions your count you can tell them your method! Just do not smoke! Pretty soon you have enough days that it does not matter anymore! Even to you!! Celebrate your quit and yourself every day! Keep your FOCUS on not smoking! The days will come one after another!
