One Day or Day One

I am going to make tomorrow my Day One and continue to count up no matter how tempting or how the excuses flood my thoughts to convince me to light up. I have struggled with back an forth for way too long and have let my friends and family down too much over this. Myself, too!

I have had enough, I vote for Day One NOT One Day!

Good Journey to You and Yours!

It's the only way to do it really . In the end it's what it will boil down to , to be quit .

Refuse to smoke , no matter what .

Keep it simple .

You can do it .

Thank YOU! I understand I must want to quit more than want to smoke! I have all these things I will do instead of smoking! Before I just planned on it and never did those things. I will this time and it will get me past Day One forever and always!

Thank You For Your Support!

Personally I don't think you have to want to quit more than you want to smoke in order to become a successful quitter.  I didn't.  But you do have to make a commitment not to - more than anything else.  No matter what.

"Actually doing it this time" (12/26/20)

"New Member here with New Agenda" (5/22/21)  "when it came down to it I never did the things I planned to get through the urges. This time I doing it."

"Ok, One Slip!  Day One All the Way!!"  (5/24/21)  "I am going to make tomorrow my Day One"  "Before I just planned on it and never did those things. I will this time and it will get me past Day One forever and always!"

My point in presenting your own words to you is not to make you feel bad.  It's to show you that whatever you've done in the past is not working.  For whatever reason. (We've all been there.)  Something isn't getting into your brain that is making a difference.  And I want something to make that difference for you, so that you never have to go back to another Day One .  Because they are NO FUN!

So, let's find out what WILL make the epiphany you need.  Will this post help?: https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/t5/Journals-Blogs/For-the-Serial-Quitters-Out-There/bc-p/1123234/...  It's from a blog I wrote called "For the Serial Quittiers Out there  Not sure if you're in that category yet, but it's just something to perhaps read and think about.

You've a wonderfully positive mindset:  THIS TIME I'M GOING TO DO IT!  is great, but so far it hasn't produced the results you'd wished for.  Right?  So then it's time to head in a different direction and find what will.  That's the homework each of us needed to do to get to smoke-freedom.  Find that key for yourself.  It will unlock the door to the end of your slavery.

You are NOT alone.......ALL ADDICTS behave in some manner just as you describe it......

"I have had enough, I vote for Day One NOT One Day!"...... I vote for One Day At A Time........... It could very well be YOUR Time...

Time to stop wishing and start LIVING FREE....but you'll learn it one day at a time, one hour at a time, one minute at a time, if necessary.......

N.O.P.E  Not One Puff Ever..........NO MATTER WHAT.....

AND you can definitely do this.

@TaracaX

Pulling for you.

Hoping today is bringing victory your way.

Just take it one day at a time.

Start by quitting just for today.

Then repeat as needed.

And you will get there.

Hope you're staying on track today @TaracaX   You can do this.   Identify the tools you'll use instead of smoking and stick to them.

Thoughts that came to me when reading your above post:

Hang in there.

Don't give up.

Do NOT keep cigarettes in your house, car, or any other place that's handy for you to access them. (BTW, when you do "fail" your quit, where are the cigarettes coming from?)

When you feel "pulled" to having a cigarette, what behaviors do you use to delay -- and hopefully prevent -- your smoking?

Do you have a written stop-smoking plan? (This is most helpful in keeping you on track.)

Do you pledge onsite each day to not smoke?

You are doing well in staying in touch with others on the site and keeping them aware of your progress (or lack thereof.)

I hope at least some of my thoughts will help you solidify your quit so you can actually make some progress to your goal of becoming a non-smoker.

Thank You All,

I am good. I am very determined and I just think, no when those urges hit. It's been working well.
