Holy snikes Batman! Here in SC I can buy a pack of Camel filters for $3 to $4. Thats outragous that smoke cost that much. If I was a smoker I would pay it though but I dont think Id have a two pack a day habit like I was.

My husband told me they are going up $7 a carton here in NC today. Wow am I glad we both quit together! We just finish having an outdoor storage building built. Yep with money we were not throwing away in ciggarettes. I'm proud of it!

they're $5.43 here in VA and apparently going up again by $0.90! when i spoke about the price to the cashier, she said, "We have Mr. Obama to thank for that," with a roll of the eyes. YES WE DO! i thought to myself! Thank YOU GOD!!! Also, in VA, we can now no longer smoke in public places (restaurants). i wish they would just ban them altogether.

Hmmm. I don't even know what they are going for around where I live. I honestly have not even thought about it. Now I'm curious. I know that Marlboros were a little over $4 2 months ago. Man, I have already saved a buttload of $$$$.

Since quitting the nasty habit 309 days agao.....I have not lit up 7725 times, and saved $3255.50 ($10.50 per pack - Canadian). Unbelieveable that smokes are so cheap in the states. Sally you mentioned $7.00 per carton - how many packages in a carton, and how many cig's per pack? Alberta finally got it, and this year introduced a law where any pharmacy - or stores with a pharmacy can no longer sell cig's..... Pharmacies out here where kinda defeating the purpose to promote health, but thwn sell cig's..

I'm not sure what they went up to around here today but I heard they were going up. My friend from MI told me he might just have to quit also because his smokes just went up $1.15 a pack. I said so just quit.
If I was still a smoker I would be saying OMG I'm going to have to start rolling them again. EWWWW what a mess and hassle that was. I did that for a year of my junkie smoking career. Isn't that nice I don't have to worry about the cost of it or rolling my own ever again. What a huge waste of my time and life. It makes me sick to know I used to do that. WOOHOO Free of the cost, and worries!

I know it is a wonderful feeling...and when talking to my older brother yesterday he started coughing over the phone - and I said if you would quit smoking you would stop that - his response was remember how you hated it when people said things like that to you...so I have got to be careful about my quit and let it be my quit.
