Hello everyone.  I am on day 26 of no smoking and NML is right around the corner and I'm excited for it.   I really haven't had an urge to smoke the last week.  I am also feeling very confident in my quit and I will not let my guard down no matter how secure I am with the quit.   I have read up on NML and was looking for more advice from anyone currently in NML or an elder.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated... Thank  you and have a great day!

Hi there!  Congrats on 26 days!  NML isn't such a bad place, really, and you're in good company!

Have you read the info on Dale's page about NML, including the original blog?

https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/blogs/jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007-blog/2011/05/24/no-mans-land-da...

Also, I host a blog every Wednesday afternoon with different NML topics. You can find more info on my page.

Congrats again!

I think I just read all the strong points in a quit right in your blog.

Excited to enter NML and Feeling confident in your quit = you have the right mind set

Not letting your guard down = means you are taking this addiction serious

You've read up on NML = means you are continuously educating yourself on how to stay committed.

Continuously taking your quit serious is key to success. You may come across some unexpected cravings. Expect the unexpected and you will do well.

Hi there motivat8! I spent a lot of time on Sarah's NML blogs past & present...it saved me! be prepared not surprized! I also made a 'what if' list...what if this happened (all my worst fears) None of it happened but when or if it does (some things on the list are inevitable) i have a plan...just knowing that helped relieve me...xo

we talk about unexpected craves coming in the 100 days after that first month.

that's what no mans land is.

we tell you so you aren't thrown for a loop if it happens to you.

I see me in your blog post.  I was cruising along pretty well at 26 days and maintained a positive attitude.  You can do NML; only, be prepared for out of the blue, urges.  I only had two but man they were pretty ferocious.  Nothing I could not handle though.  Come here and blog before, during or after as you see fit.  Keep plugging along and congrats on 26 days.

Good Luck to you - I am on day 62 here in NML, and still come here regularly for support, and to keep me educated about different experiences.  As other's have said, read, be prepared, and remember - you don't do that anymore.

Congrats on your quit!

Stay positive...stick to the basics that got you this far......

As I went thru it, there were some that lost their quit after 100 days....no mystery...they just stopped doing the things that got them that far....it was always the same.....they became less and less involved on this site, and then one day they would post the "I Slipped" Blog

Just stay involved.....pay it forward by helping others , and the magic will take you thru NML
