I am confused myself . I must be truthful to myself and admit that I like smoking right know but I  can't stand the smell  and most  of the time I don't  like myself  when I smoke....oh Sheila what have you done?????

You are putting those death sticks in your mouth and lighting them. If I handed you a pistol, would you put that in your mouth and pull the trigger? Same thing, just the pistol is faster.

That being said, I haven't had a job since last Sept. I most likely will never work again. I just have to wait and see how well I can recover.

Please don't kill yourself slowly with those things. You are too important to Great Spirit to do that to yourself.

How long were you quit before you started smoking again?

To remain smoke free, you have to trully want to do quit. Any situation that involves stress, you will automatically grab for that cigarette if you're not fully committed. When you want to quit, you will learn to live smoke free through it all. Living a smoke free life is so much better. For me, i am not sick much anymore. I don't have to sneak away at parties, to light up or freeze my butt off in this winter weather to run outside and so on. I can walk for miles cause i can breathe as opposed to walking just a few houses away and being out of breath and chest hurting. Here is some reading you can do if you choose to be free. Remember you are so worth it and deserve the best.

Hi Sheila and welcome back.

The first thing you need to understand is it isn't the smoking we like---it's that the smoking feeds our addiction and takes away those cravings/withdrawls. We who are addicts twist things and try and convince ourselves that we love smoking. We convince ourselves that we are "missing out" when we quit. There really isn't anything farther from the truth.

Shawn is right---You have to truly want to quit.

I don't know how much you educated yourself on the addiction but regardless it is time to Refresh, Regroup, and Restart. You're truly worth it!

I want one-no I don't. One sounds great-no it doesn't. Oh just one-not just one. If you keep thinking in terms of "one" this kind of internal debate is non-relenting-it will slowly drive you nuts.

So, don't carry on this debate. Don't think in terms of one. Think in terms of full-fledged smoking. The full quantity, the social stigma, the stench, the costs, the risks. I'm not advocating looking at them negatively. Just look at them how they were-really were at the end.

They were making you sick and tired enough of them that you voluntarily put yourself into withdrawal to break free from them. You did it. Now just keep them in perspective. If you used to smoke 20 a day, say to yourself when the urge hits that "I want 20 a day, every day, for the rest of my life, till it cripples, then kills me." As soon as you hear yourself say it in that perspective you will likely find yourself next saying, "What am I thinking? I don't want to smoke that way." That will be the end of that particular discussion.

My name is Teresa & I have been quit for 1 Year, 10 Months, 1 Week, 2 Days, 16 hours, 40 minutes and 24 seconds (680 days). I have saved $2,787.43 by not smoking 9,529 cigarettes. I have saved 1 Month, 3 Days, 2 hours and 5 minutes of my life. My Quit Date: 4/14/2012 12:00 AM

Come on back here. Find some hope and find some help, but you will have to do it on your own. But you can and you will, if you decide to do it. To change, the first thing you have to change is your mind. I will be praying for you.

Hello Sheila! How lovely to see you again! Please read through your past blogs and comments as they are  very telling and can help you discover things about yourself…

Do not be concerned with past quits just get focused, do the prep and begin again because the past is just that...the past.

You have endured a death in the family & job loss...Now you will be re-learning life without cigarettes and how life circumstances fortify your freedom not jeopardize it!

Again…GREAT to see you! To your credit lady you never give up!!!!

Saty close and blog often this time! xo
