All of the sudden LIFE itself has  become a HUGE trigger. Someone kick me in the head or something...

Stop and think about what's going on in your head.  Will a cigarette fix your life?  Life itself isn't the trigger but the way we react to life.  You do NOT need a cigarette.  Take a walk, scream, blog, kick that dog off the computer and play with him or use the computer.

Consider yourself head kicked! Now share with us the issues you are facing and let us help! Probably just writing them out will help! There are no triggers for you! YOU DON'T DO THAT TO YOURSELF ANYMORE! Remember?

Believe me....I was a bit down also, but having to reset my clock this morning has done nothing but make me feel even worse. You can DO THIS! I don't want you to be in my shoes all over again. Keep reading your above stats over and over. Are you ready to go back to zero???

Sometimes life can be a pain in the ass, I mean ankle. Often we have only two choices, change our circumstances or change out attitude toward our circumstances. You are a strong woman but it is okay from time to time to reach out for help from friends or even strangers. we are all human, even you Jo. Whatever is going on will pass and you will be stronger on the other side.

You are upset and the situation is TEMPORARY...this is life and we can all get thru life's bad times....give it time. Pray, distract...AND we ALL know smoking won't help anything!!!

DON'T YOU DARE!   Seems you are focusing on the negative, Jo please remember and be grateful for all you are blessed with, Attitude of Gratitude.  Pain can alter the mind big time, so good for you for reaching out and coming here for help!  That makes you very Human, and very Brave.  DON'T YOU DARE!

You gonna let a little ol sprained ankle get your precious quit?  I think not!  You're just at a bit of a low point.  Trust that your ankle will heal and you will have your new life back again.  I broke my foot about 9 months after quitting smoking and it really requires some patience, for sure!

List a gazillion ways to be good to yourself in this situation and start working on that list!

We're here for you and hate to see you in pain!

Take joy in that which you have accomplished! Be proud of yourself! Look around to all you have helped! Glance twice at those who look up to you and admire you strenghth! Know that you will rise above the adversity that you face today! For today is just one day! Give thanks to God that everyday, you are Free! Can I get an Amen?

Jo,

I know how you feel when it seems like life itself is one big trigger then you start questioning why you even bothered to quit. You know all the crap I have been through with my husbands drug addiction and the other dramas of life. So many times I came close to convincing myself that I should not have quit smoking but I fought off the urge. Just keep reminding yourself how long you have been quit (8months) and that no matter what your head is telling you , a cig will not make anything in your life any easier. A smoke will only complicate things. protect your quit at all cost! I'm glad I checked in today and now knowing that one of my friends is in trouble I will check in daily.  I am sending my love and prayers to you.

seems to be something in that 9 month of our quit huh? I am SO blessed in many ways. I feel that "emptiness" right now. Its just out of no where. I think mostly my ankle is causing this emotion. Cause right now Id be OUT doing something.

This SUCKS!

glad you guys were here this morning...

It's amazing when we hit a rough patch or a rough day, and go directly to the the old way of thinking....thinking a cigarette could help something...we ALL KNOW cigarettes can't help ANYTHIN so we must CHANGE our way of THINKING....step around the thought and laugh at it !!! Face it and laugh at it Jo!!!   img alt="" src="" />

Peggy, and you posted not long ago, that you felt like you "elders" just are wasting your time since no one seems to read and take notice of what you do here. (In your own words)

YOU just DID.

Im gonna say 2 things: your words have been SAVED on my desktop and they spoke to me. As did everyone elses. And 2, dont ever think for a second your time here is wasted. We read them, we hear you, we dont always say thank you or comment.

Rarely are there this many people, let alone elders, online Sunday morning, least not that I have seen when Im here. Yet. today EVERYONE is here and that is NO coincidence.

May all these words touch my heart and help me get past these thoughts.

Im just at a very low point right now...

Nice kick...

I was well on my way to the next phase of my life when this happened.. Im taking it as a "test" this too shall pass...............

Don't be stupid.  Don't dwell in the well of cigarette thinking.  The "good old days" are garbage.   Relapse Traps

Use all the techniques you've learned over the past 8 months and three weeks.    Stop your whining.  (Kick!)  You wanna be OUT DOING something?  Tough.  (Kick!) You can't.  Right now.  So find something INSIDE to do.  Geez.  You're sitting there actually considering smoking a cigarette after almost NINE MONTHS of freedom?  Don't you remember Day One?  Hmmmmm?    Wanna go back there again, do ya?   Hmmmm?  Think about it very carefully.  Think about how much time and effort you've put into this quit.  Just think about it.

This is your continued opportunity to play Super Woman.  Do it.  Stay free.

Hug.

Hopefully this all worked out for the positive.  It is however a ttestament of the value of this site.  The Nicodemon was out after one of use and she put out a call for help.  Look at all who cared enough give word of encouragement and an occasional kick in the arse.  Man I loved the virtual KIA.  I got to get me one of those.

Anyways, Jo you can do it, it will pass in a short while.  I know cause he comes and visits at least once a week

And just think how much better that pie taste with out the "smoke screen" covering up the true favors

Hugs for you

It will pass Jo, I just had my defib replaced on Tuesday and I can't use my left arm for much of anything for the next six weeks and it's my second favorite arm. Oh well, it could be much worse, it will pass. I am not very good at kicking people in the head but i am very good at giving spankings.

Jo - Sorry to be late to this.... I am glad you appear to be feeling better. So sorry about your ankle! I sprained mine back in Novemeber - small crack in bone - so I know - NOT FUN! However - it will get better! I have no doubt you will continue to protect your quit - you are way too smart not to....how do I know?? Your voice here - always so wise! Quitting didn't make our life perfect - but, we can ride through and carry on - without smoking! I swear we can! Also - it never hurts to remember my favorite quote:

Where there is CAKE, there is HOPE....and there is always CAKE!

So - please go find some cake dear Jo!! Please take care!!

Hey Miss Jo!  Isn't it nice to feel loved?  Look at all the people who came to your aid and truly cared about you and helping you remain Quit!!!  Boy....the love that is shared on this Site is simply amazing and that alone should show that the silly sickorette doesn't stand a chance with the group of people we have out here!!!!  Stay true and stay free....
